![]() ![]() Monster Crown from developer Studio Aurum is heavily inspired by Pokémon, but takes a bit of a darker turn. Collecting creatures and battling them again and again was always great fun as a kid. It was on my sister’s Game Boy and I remember sneaking into her room when she was out of the house just so I could play it. Pokémon Red was one of the first games I ever played. Are these quests soloable, or will I need a group for them? Primarily a dual blades user, if that changes anything.Monster Crown makes a great first impression. ![]() From the looks of it it's Lunestra(spelling?) based on the list of optional quests on a wiki page I saw. I'm down to the 8 star optionals and missing a couple. Not related to crowns, but I'm looking to wrap up my optional quests. What about 30 minute time limits? Will that be more likely to give the average, or will that be more likely to just be either big or small?ĭo Tempered investigations modify the likelihood in any way? Is it worth putting off crown farming while I go ape on Tempered monsters on the off chance I'll get them there(while not really focusing on the 1s1g/1fient stuff), or should I take the time to farm up crowns before moving on to the tougher monsters? Is a silver reward required, or would Bronze Bronze Gold Gold sufficient? So here's some questions I haven't been able to find the answers to. The lower the number of feints, the better The time limit on the investigation determines the size(15 minute for mini, 50 minute for large) Okay, so this is my understanding with investigations and crowns:ġ silver 1 gold reward is required to get a crown of either size If you're on PC, you can use the latest version of the HP overlay mod to show you their sizes (either "real" / guild card sizes or values between 88 and 125), so you pretty much just have to load into a quest to know if any of the monsters there are small or large enough for a gold crown Edit: You can read more about what monsters sizes you can get from investigations here. By default, gold crowns seem to have a ~9% to ~12% chance of spawning in certain investigations depending on their hidden size modifier, and you have a 24% chance of getting a tiny or large gold crown in the event quests, which explains why it's so easy to find crowns with them. Low-rank optionals can give you some of the smaller silver crowns and high-rank optionals can give you all silver crowns, but will never give you a gold crown without a mod. The only exceptions seem to be the Lunastra special assignments, which always spawn the largest possible Teostra. A few of these values might be off by 0.01 due to a rounding issue.īy the way, assignment quests are guaranteed to give you the default size and optional quests can't spawn gold crowns. Gold crowns cells are highlighted in yellow and silver crowns cells are blue. ![]() I've compiled a list of all gold crown thresholds and all possible monster sizes in case you're still looking for crowns and/or want to see what kind of crown you have without having to do any math. Kushala has gold crowns at 123%, 124%, and 125%, so you know you have the first possible gold crown and might find the other two sizes later For example, if you find a Kushala Daora with size 2353.15, you can divide it by the default size (1913.13) to get ~1.23. This means that if you know what their default size is, you can use the value on your guild card to figure out what kind of crown you have. The monsters with a gold crown starting at 120% have 10 silver crowns (from 110% to 119%) and all other monsters have 8 silver crowns (from 115% to 122%). Pukei-Pukei, Tobi-Kadachi, Anjanath, Radobaan, Deviljho, and Uragaan get a large crown starting at 120% of their average size but all other monsters get it at 123 instead. Each monster seems to have 3 tiny gold crowns (88%, 89%, and 90%) and 3 large gold crowns, but there are two different large crown thresholds. ![]() Monster sizes go from 88% to 122% or 125% of their default size if you don't take event quests into account. ![]()
